Health clearances
A health clearance is a test result for one animal: a hip or eye screening, a DNA panel, a heart exam. Record it once with its result, date and certificate, and BreederPro keeps track of whether it is still current.
Health clearances are available on every plan.
Adding a clearance
- Open the animal and go to the Health tab.
- Choose Health Clearances.
- Click Add.
- Fill in the form:
- Test Name (required): for example OFA Hips, CERF Eyes or vWD DNA
- Result (required): the outcome as the testing body reports it, for example Excellent, Normal/Clear or Carrier
- Test Date: the date the test was done
- Expires: the date the clearance runs out, if it does
- Organization: the testing body, for example OFA, CERF or Embark
- Certificate #: the certificate or report number
- Notes: anything else you want to keep with it
- Save the clearance.
Status
Each clearance shows a status badge:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Current | The clearance has no expiry date, or the expiry date is still more than 30 days away |
| Expiring | The expiry date is within the next 30 days |
| Expired | The expiry date has passed |
Use the expiry date for tests that need renewing, such as some eye screenings. Leave it empty for permanent results.
Editing and deleting
Use the edit icon on a clearance to change any field, and the delete icon to remove it.
Sharing clearances
Clearances appear on the animal's shareable health profile, so a buyer or a vet can see them without signing in. See Health profile sharing.
Adding clearances from a document
If you have a certificate as a PDF or photo, Smart Import can read the clearances from it and add them for you, after you check them.
