Settings Overview

Access all settings from Settings in the sidebar. Each section is listed below.

Account

Manage your account name, view your current plan, set your account timezone, invite or remove team members, and leave an account. See Account & Team Members for details.

Billing

Manage your subscription plan, update payment details, or cancel. See Plans & Billing for details.

Appearance

Choose how BreederPro looks to you. Three options:

  • Light — always use the light theme
  • Dark — always use the dark theme
  • System — follow your device's light/dark mode setting

Vaccine Types

Define the vaccine types used across your animals and litters. Vaccine types are not pre-populated — you create the ones relevant to your species.

To add a vaccine type:

  1. Select the Species the vaccine applies to.
  2. Enter the vaccine name (e.g. FVRCP, Rabies, DHPP).
  3. Click Add.

Vaccine types are filtered by species when recording vaccinations, so only relevant options appear.

Species

Default Species & Breed

Set account-wide defaults for species and breed. These pre-fill automatically when you create new animals, so you don't have to select the same species and type the same breed every time.

To configure:

  1. Go to Settings > Species.
  2. Choose your Default Species from the dropdown.
  3. Enter your Default Breed (free-text, e.g. Maine Coon, Labrador Retriever).
  4. Click Save Defaults.

You can always override species and breed per animal or per program. If you work with multiple breeds, set the one you use most often as the default.

During onboarding, the species and breed you choose for your first program are automatically saved as your account defaults.

Custom Species

BreederPro includes a list of common species built in. If you breed a species not on the list, add it here.

To add a custom species:

  1. Enter the species name (e.g. Fancy Rat, Hedgehog, Alpaca).
  2. Click Add.

Custom species appear alongside built-in species in all dropdowns throughout the app.

File Categories

Create categories to organize files uploaded to animals and programs (e.g. Vet Records, Contracts, Photos).

To add a category:

  1. Enter the category name.
  2. Click Add.

Categories are available when uploading files anywhere in the app.

Reminders

Subscribe to your pending reminders as a calendar feed. Vaccination due dates and other reminder events will appear in your external calendar app (Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, etc.).

This feature requires a Pro or Max plan. To set up:

  1. Click Generate Feed to create a webcal URL.
  2. Copy the URL and subscribe to it in your calendar app.

The feed updates automatically as you add or update reminders in BreederPro.
