Frequently asked questions
Can I import my existing pedigrees?
- Yes. Connect Claude (included on every plan, Free too) and give it your spreadsheets or registration certificates. It adds each cat with its registration numbers and builds the pedigree as far back as your records go. On Basic and up you can also import cats from a CSV file. Ancestors you do not own are kept as pedigree-only records, so they never clutter your cat list.
Does BreederPro calculate COI?
- Yes. BreederPro calculates the coefficient of inbreeding from the pedigrees you enter and shows how complete each pedigree is, because missing ancestors make COI look lower than it really is. Five or more complete generations gives a figure you can rely on.
Can kitten buyers pay by card?
- On Pro and Max, yes. Connect your Stripe account from Settings and each invoice link gets a Pay button. Stripe’s standard card fee applies and BreederPro takes no platform fee on top. You can still mark cash, check, Venmo or Zelle payments as paid yourself.
Is there a free plan?
- Yes. Free is $0 with no card required: one breeding program, up to 10 owned cats, pedigrees, litters, weights, health records and the Claude connector. Basic is $5 a month ($50 a year) and Pro is $20 a month ($200 a year).
Does it work for multiple breeds or catteries?
- Yes. Every cat has its own breed, and breeding programs keep separate lines or catteries apart: 1 program on Free, 2 on Basic, 5 on Pro and unlimited on Max. Paid plans add team seats so a co-owner or partner can work in the same account.
