Animal Detail Tabs

Opening an animal's profile shows a set of tabs. Here's what each one contains.

Details

The main profile information: name, call name, species, breed, sex, date of birth, registration number, sire/dam links, photo, and custom fields. Edit any field inline and click Save.

Custom fields

Custom fields hold per-animal records such as EMS Color, Microchip, titles and registry numbers (for example ACA Reg #). Your program's default fields appear on every animal in it. When you add a field, the name box suggests the names your other animals already use: pick one so the same information is always stored under one name.

BreederPro also tidies common spellings as you add a field: "chip no" is saved as Microchip, "ems_code" as EMS Color and "reg_aca" as ACA Reg #. Fields an animal already has are never renamed or merged for you. If you add a second name for a field the animal already has, with a different value, BreederPro asks you to fill in the existing field instead.

An AI assistant follows the same names. If it notices an animal with two names for one field (for example both EMS Color and ems_code), it tells you and offers to merge them, one animal at a time, only after you say yes.

Pedigree

View and document the animal's ancestry. The tab offers two modes:

  • Interactive — an interactive graph across multiple generations; click any node to navigate to that ancestor
  • Certificate — a traditional pedigree layout you can print or save as a PDF, with options for call name, species, birth date, color coding, program logo, and custom fields

Use the generation selector to display 3–5 generations. See Pedigree & Lineage for full details.

Reproduction

Shows the animal's matings and litters in two sub-sections:

  • Matings — all matings this animal was involved in as sire or dam, across all programs
  • Litters — all litters this animal is a parent of

Click any row to open the mating or litter detail page.

Health

Contains three sub-sections:

  • Weight — log and chart individual weight measurements over time
  • Growth Chart — visual growth curve (populated from weight entries)
  • Vaccinations — vaccination history for this animal

Journal

Timestamped notes for this animal. Add entries to record observations, health notes, or anything relevant. Journal entries are private to your account.

Events

Events that have been linked to this specific animal. You can add new events here or link existing program events to the animal. Events appear in the program calendar and the main Calendar view.

Files

Upload and organize documents and photos for this animal. When uploading:

  • File — select a file from your device (images, PDFs, documents)
  • Category — optionally assign a file category (e.g. Vet Records, Contracts) — categories are managed in Settings > File Categories
  • Description — optional note about the file

Click any file to download or preview it.

Advanced

Contains two sections:

  • Convert to Owned — if this is an external (pedigree-only) animal, use this to convert it to a fully owned animal that appears in your main Animals list
  • Danger Zone — delete the animal. It is removed from your account right away and permanently erased after 30 days. The animal will be removed from all programs, matings, and litters it was linked to.
